The disciples on the road to Emmaus were experiencing great sadness over the death of Jesus. His walk with them changed all of that because He encourages them, He comforts them, and He strengthens them. All of these things created a burning joy in their hearts.
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
